It’s Not Too Late.

When did we start to let others tell us what we should and shouldn’t do, be and accomplish? When did we put aside our desires and dreams so we could focus on our responsibilities and obligations? When did we decide that someone else’s journey was the only one to follow?

Many of us, myself included, grew up with the belief we could do, have and be anything we wanted in life. But then suddenly one day we were all grown up, ready to embrace all the world had to offer, only to realise it was very different from what we’ve imagined it to be.

Instead of support and cheer we were told we couldn’t do this, we couldn’t do that, this would never work, that thing would make us look a certain way, make people think certain things. Suddenly our beliefs, visions, hopes and dreams for ourselves were replaced with worry, concern, obligation, unrealistic expectations and fear.

Instead of walking our own path we somehow ended up doing things we thought we were supposed to do and what we we had been told to do, instead of what we actually wanted and needed to do, for ourselves.

But here’s the silver lining in all this; whatever happened, however long you have been walking around in the opposite direction, it’s not too late to turn around.

It’s not too late to brush the dust of your dreams, visions, hopes and desires

It’s not too late to do the things that feels authentic to YOU and makes YOU feel happy and fulfilled.

It’s not too late to become who you wanted to be and unbecome who you were told to be.
